India recorded a new daily maximum of coronavirus cases this Saturday when it was known that 145,384 people were diagnosed with the disease on the final day.
It is the fifth time the Asian country has crossed the threshold of 100,000 positive COVID-19 per day after a high of more than 131,000 infections was confirmed last Friday.
For example, the Indian Ministry of Health has reported that the total number of infections since the pandemic began is 13,205,926, including 1,046,631 active cases and 168,436 deaths, with 794 new deaths recorded on the last day.
Regarding the vaccination schedule in the country, the vaccine has been given to more than 9.80 million people since the campaign began on Jan. 16, according to The Times of India.
In this context, the chief minister of the Indian state of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has warned of the shortage of vaccines and, according to “The Indian Express”, has requested an “immediate” delivery from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
