India continues to record record numbers of new cases of coronavirus, having confirmed 94,372 this time around, on top of 1,114 additional deaths, according to the latest segment offered by the Asian country’s Ministry of Health.
In the past 24 hours, health officials have detailed that to date 4,754,356 accumulated cases have been recorded, of which 973,175 are still active, while 3,702,595 correspond to people who have already overcome the disease.
The total number of deaths is 78,586 deaths. That puts the country in third place with the highest number of deaths, only behind Brazil and the United States.
A day earlier, authorities reported 97,570 new infections, the highest since the pandemic began, in addition to a further 1,201 deaths. India is the second most severely affected country in the world, and experts believe it could end up ahead of the United States, which already has 6.4 million cases.
The spread of the new coronavirus accelerated in India last month, surpassing the 2 million level on August 7th, that of 3 on the 23rd that same month and that of 4 on September 5th.
