After more than 64,400 deaths, India is already the third country with the most deaths from COVID-19 and, according to experts, is developing to be the most important epicenter of the pandemic with more than 3.6 million people.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, 78,512 cases were recorded on the last day, which is very close to the record of 78,700 the previous day, and the total number of infections is 3,621,245.
In addition, there have been another 971 deaths, bringing the death toll to 64,469, putting India ahead of Mexico, which so far ranks third in the world. Even so, the death rate has fallen slightly to 1.78 percent.
On a positive note, the number of recovered patients continues to increase and is now over 2.77 million, which corresponds to a recovery rate of 76.62 percent. In total, the country has carried out more than 42.3 million tests, including more than 846,000 this Sunday.
