The Indian Ministry of Health has confirmed a new daily record of coronavirus infections this Friday after nearly 50,000 cases were registered in less than 24 hours. During this period it also exceeded another threshold, namely 30,000 deaths since the arrival of COVID. 19 in the country.
With this number of deaths, India already surpasses France as the sixth country in the world in terms of the number of deaths caused by the corona virus.
In particular, there have been 49,310 new infections and another 740 deaths in the last 24 hours, for a total of 30,601 deaths. This is evident from the balance published by the NDTV network, which lists a total of 1,287,945 cases. More than 800,000 people have recovered from the disease.
However, the reduced number of tests in some of the country’s largest metropolises has raised concerns that the situation is much more serious than the authorities say.
