The Indian health authorities confirmed this Saturday that a record 6,654 cases have been registered in the last 24 hours, increasing the total amount from COVID-19 to 125,101 positives.
This is the second time in a week that the number of coronavirus cases has increased by more than 6,000, and the third time that India has reported the largest increase in the number of infections by one day.
The number of deaths has now risen to 3,720 after 137 new deaths have been registered. This is evident from the Indian Ministry of Health balance collected by the Hindustan Times.
Of the COVID-19 cases in India, authorities have said 69,597 remain active while 51,783 people have been recovered.
