India exceeds 800,000 cases of coronavirus after registering more than 27,000 infections in one day

According to the Ministry of Health, India has already exceeded 800,000 coronavirus cases and has recorded 27,114 new infections and 519 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The balance updated to Saturday and collected by the Indian broadcaster NDTV is 820,916 confirmed cases, including 515,386 cases recovered and 22,123 deaths.

The previous night, 26,506 new infections and 475 coronavirus deaths were reported.

More than half of the confirmed cases in India, the third country with the highest number of infections, are concentrated in three areas, with Maharashtra leading the way. The state recorded a record jump of 7,862 new cases in a single day, which corresponds to 238,461. This is followed by Tamil Nadu with 130,261 cases and Delhi 109,140 cases.
