The pandemic of the new corona virus originating in China has registered 48,513 new cases and 768 deaths in India in the last 24 hours, representing a total of more than 1.5 million infected and more than 34,000 deaths.
With the new data, the coronavirus balance in India is 1.53 million infected and 34,913 deaths. So far, 988,029 people in India have managed to overcome COVID-19, the coronavirus-derived respiratory disease. The increase in coronavirus infections occurs a day after India has passed 1.5 million infected people.
The state of Maharashtra has recorded a total of 391,440 cases and 14,165 deaths. A health survey of approximately 7,000 people in Mumbai found that 16 percent of Mumbai residents were infected with coronavirus. In shantytowns, where hundreds of thousands of people live in a small space and share a bathroom, the proportion of infections rises to 57 percent.
Bombay recorded 717 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, the lowest daily increase in over two months, resulting in a total of 110,846 cases of coronavirus and 6,184 deaths. In Tamil Nadu, health authorities have registered 6,792 new cases of coronavirus, for a total of 227,688 infections.
1,056 new cases were registered in Delhi, which corresponds to a total of 132,275 infected and 3,881 deaths. The state of Andra Pradesh has seen the highest increase in coronavirus patients in the past 24 hours, with a total of 110,297 people infected.
