The new coronavirus pandemic originating in the Chinese city of Wuhan has registered more than 86,000 new cases and more than a thousand deaths in the past 24 hours, setting a new record of infections in a single day, according to the latest record by the Indian Ministry of Health published this Saturday, more than four million people are already infected with more than 69,000 deaths.
The new data shows that it took India just thirteen days to go from three to four million infected people and has repeatedly broken its infection record in one day. The new balance brings the healed people to 3.1 million, with a recovery rate of 77.23 percent.
With the new data, the coronavirus pandemic balance in India is 4,023,179 infected and 69,561 deaths, after registering 1,089 deaths on the previous day. If India maintains the current rate of daily infection growth, it could overtake Brazil this weekend and become the second country hardest hit by the pandemic.
It took India 21 days to go from one million to two million cases of coronavirus and another 16 days to hit three million infections. In just thirteen days, the country has more than four million people infected with coronavirus. It took the country 110 days to hit the first 100,000 cases and another 59 days to hit the first million positive cases.
