India has exceeded the 30,000 new cases of coronavirus in a single day for the first time, for a total of almost 970,000. This confirms that the Asian giant is the world’s third most affected by the pandemic after the United States and Brazil.
The Indian Ministry of Health reported this Thursday that 32,695 new cases and another 606 deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours, representing 968,876 positive and 24,915 deaths.
Of the total number of infected, 331,146 correspond to active cases, while 612,814 COVID-19 have already existed. “As a result, 63 percent of patients have recovered,” a health official said in a statement from the PTI news agency.
By territory, the state of Maharashtra is most affected with 275,640 confirmed cases, including 7,975 cases discovered on the last day and 10,928 deaths, including 233 cases that have been registered since Wednesday.
