The new coronavirus pandemic originating in the Chinese city of Wuhan has left more than 83,000 new cases in India in the past 24 hours. According to the Indian Ministry of Health, 85 million people have been infected and 67,000 people have died.

In total, 2.97 million people have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus that accounts for more than 77 percent of all infected, according to the Indian news agency PTI. The death rate has dropped to 1.75 percent.
There are currently 815,538 active coronavirus infections in India, which is 21.16 percent of all infections. The coronavirus balance in India exceeded two million people infected on August 7 and three million on August 23.
