Lebanon has registered more than 100 new coronavirus infections since this Friday. This is the largest daily increase so far, mainly due to the outbreak of cases reported by a cleaning company.
According to Health Minister Hamad Hasan, around 75% of new cases in the company were identified. Most of the infected had no symptoms and were foreigners.
“Let the people rest; we know the source,” said the minister in comments on the LB station that ‘The Guardian’ collected.
The government has instructed the company’s 800 employees to undergo the test, along with another 1,000 employees from two other affiliates.
The country has registered more than 2,000 coronavirus cases and 36 deaths since February.
