This Saturday, the Italian government reported 1,501 new coronavirus infections and six deaths from the COVID-19 illness it caused, bringing a total of 35,603 deaths and 286,297 confirmed cases.
These data, from the Official Civil Protection Bulletin, represent a decrease from Friday’s data, when there were 1,616 positive and 10 deaths.
In terms of layoffs and people who have overcome the disease, they add up to 213,191,759 more than Friday, bringing the number of active cases to 37,503. There are also 182 patients in intensive care units, seven more than the day before.
By region, Lombardy tops the list of infections with 269, followed by 155 in Lazio, the region where Rome, the country’s capital, is located.
