Hurricane Isaías hits the east coast of the United States with wind speeds of 140 kilometers per hour

Hurricane Isaías hit the east coast of the United States late Monday with a maximum wind speed of 140 km / h, according to the US National Hurricane Service (NHC).

The hurricane landed after 11 p.m. local time near Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, with stronger winds than originally anticipated.

The NHC had warned residents of areas affected by hurricanes that the storm could “threaten their lives”, with flooding and “dangerous winds”.

Further north on the east coast, New Jersey Governor Ryan Murphy has announced a state of emergency for the entire region, closed all public buildings, and warned people not to drive.
