The Chinese technology giant Huawei recently filed a new patent for blockchain technology that deals with storage methods and devices. Huawei holds a number of other relevant patents that cover topics such as blockchain-based solution methods.
According to the Chinese company database Tianyancha, the smartphone manufacturer, has registered a patent “Blockchain Ledger storage and device” on January 17, 2019. The date of announcement of the application was then set to July 14.
Shenzhen Nanshan District Government previously announced a partnership with Huawei to drive blockchain, big data, artificial intelligence and 5G adoption in the region through the establishment of the Kunpeng Industrial Demonstration Zone.
Working with the PBoC
Huawei also signed a “strategic cooperation agreement” with the People’s Bank of China.or PBoC, but details have been kept confidential.
This partnership was formed shortly after the PBoC test in Shenzhen in collaboration with Huawei.
In April, over 100 well-known domestic and foreign companies joined the Blockchain Innovation Alliance in China. Members are Inspur, Tsinghua Unigroup, Huawei, IBM, Tencent, Alibaba and Baidu, according to the announcement.
