How Moms’ Leadership Can Save the WorldHow Moms’ Leadership Can Save the World

I know that there is still a long way to go before May 10, but I urgently need to mention your mother … Do not get mad! All I want is to remind you – in case you forgot – of your mom and the incredible powers she has.

In a country where they kill more than 10 women every day and where there is almost no one who has not suffered sexual harassment or abuse , I swear to you that it is urgent that you and everyone remember that we have a mother.

And it is not a cheesy and meaningless speech. It is about asking you to become aware of the contribution of these women in our lives and in the destiny of our world. It is a fact: without the mothers and their vital work, inside and outside the home, the economy would collapse … there would be no startups, no innovation or anything at all.

Even more: if we want to have a future in the face of incessant technological changes and the rapid destruction of our planet, there is no other: we have to go to our mothers and their unique leadership.

I know that when someone says the word “leader” you never imagine a mother with her baby, but – believe me – moms develop skills that very few leaders achieve.

You doubt it? Juan Carlos Castro, an expert in neuromarketing and on-stage sales, defines five characteristics of the leaders of the future:

  1. Keep an eye on the personal growth of your team
  2. You have a clear message to share and you know how to tell it.
  3. Has its focus on a better world
  4. He is a leader who trains other leaders
  5. It is complete, with great coherence between what you think, say and do

If you reflect a little, moms have all these skills because they develop them with their children. If you realize this and approach your mother as that great leader you can learn from, you will be invincible in the face of the challenges of the future.

Eduardo García, founder of Máximo Bistrot restaurant and one of the best chefs in Mexico and the world (check the full interview in the April issue of ), knows very well the role his mother played in his life: “For me, Not only is he the person I admire the most, but he is my hero. He is phenomenal, he is someone who has resisted everything. ”
