Hong Kong opened its first 500-bed coronavirus provisional hospital this Saturday as the number of infections in the area increased with more than 3,000.
The hospital, installed in the old congress center, has 500 beds, which are mainly intended for patients between 18 and 60 years with mild COVID-19 symptoms. According to the Chinese chain CGTN, the company has already received 20 of the 30 patients that it is expected to receive daily.
This new health facility is at a time when the former British colony is experiencing an increase in infections related to social and economic reopening, according to the South China Morning Post.
In the past 24 hours, the Hong Kong authorities have discovered another 125 cases, which corresponds to eleven days with three-digit numbers for a total of 3,396 infected people, including 31 deaths.
