High ETH fees are delaying the start of Aavegotchi’s non-fungible token game

The decentralized financial project, Aavegotchi is delaying the start of its game for digital collectibles in non-fungible tokens due to the high activity on the Ethereum blockchain on the mainnet.

According to a tweet from his team today Aavegotchi will move the start of their game on January 4th in response to the “incredibly high gas costs” and “extreme volatility” of Ethereum. The project also found that “Most likely” will be migrated to Matic Network, a smart contract platform and Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum.

“Aavegotchi on L2 means no gas fees, faster transaction confirmations and a great gaming experience,” He confirmed the project, adding that he expected it to start before the end of January.

According to Aavegotchis litepaper, The game features collectible digital ghost avatars supported by Aave Interest Tokens (AAVE).
