The Libyan national army, the rebels led by Marshal Jalifa Haftar in the east of the country, have accused the Tripoli government, recognized by the international community, of attacking residential areas in the city of Tarhuna, about 80 kilometers southeast of Tripoli. .
“Tarhuna was attacked with missiles. More than 20 were killed in the residential areas,” spokesman Ahmed al Mismari told the Russian Sputnik agency.
The fighting for Tarhuna started late last week with this goal, which the Libyan government considered a “priority”.
On April 15, the unity government assured that it would expand its offensive against loyal forces in the east of the country after lightning strikes were struck west of Tripoli.
