British guitarist Peter Green, co-founder of the rock group Fleetwood Mac, died in the UK at the age of 73, as his own family reported in a statement released on Saturday afternoon.
“Peter Green’s family announced his death with a great sadness this weekend when he slept peacefully. There will be an explanation in the coming days,” said the guitarist’s family in a letter from the law firm Swan Turton. .
The influential guitarist, born in Bethnal Green in east London, founded the rock group Fleetwood Mac in 1967 with drummer Mick Fleetwood in London. The following year the band made its debut with ‘Fleetwood Mac’ and achieved great success with criticism and sales.
