The President of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei, has announced the start of the country’s economic reopening this Monday and has eased the curfew for the corona virus.

The president has reported that the reopening will be via a warning system and epidemiological traffic lights that indicate the risk of the pandemic by location.

Therefore, the government has planned that from Monday there will be no restrictions on vehicle traffic and that the curfew will be made more flexible with a schedule from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

According to a report by the newspaper ‘Prensa Libre’, Giammattei asked private companies to have a working day between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and lifted the mobility restrictions at the weekend.
