Germany tops half a million infections after registering a new record of daily cases

The new coronavirus pandemic, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has left 19,059 new cases and 103 deaths in Germany in the past 24 hours. The country has not only exceeded the daily infection record for the fourth day in a row, but has exceeded half a million people affected, according to the report published on Saturday by the Robert Koch Institute, the federal authority responsible for monitoring infectious diseases.
