The German health authorities have registered 1,916 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, as the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the government agency responsible for combating infectious diseases, reported this Friday.
With these new infections, 267,773 people have already contracted COVID-19, while the death toll is 9,378, seven more deaths than the previous day. In addition, around 238,700 people have overcome the disease.
On the other hand, the RKI has stated that the reproduction number or R-value is 1.00, while on Thursday it was 1.04. This means that each infected person will infect one person on average.
As part of the pandemic, between the end of March and the beginning of April, Germany reached the peak of infections with more than 6,000 cases per day, after which the number rose again in July. In August, it exceeded 2,000 cases a day.
