The coronavirus pandemic infected over 155,000 people in Germany and killed 5,750 people. This emerges from the report published on Monday by the Robert Koch Institute, the German government agency responsible for the surveillance of communicable diseases.
The 1,018 new cases of coronavirus represent a significant decrease compared to the 1,737 infections in the previous balance. After several days, the number was over 2,000. The total number of infections is 155,193, with 110 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Bavaria is the most affected state with 41,070 infected and 1,621 deaths. North Rhine-Westphalia (31,879 positive and 1,131 deaths) and Baden-Württemberg (31,043 infections and 1,249 deaths) followed. The capital Berlin registered 5,638 cases and 125 deaths.
This equilibrium is evident, according to the pessimistic economic estimates released this Friday in the country in which the confidence of its businesspeople declined in a “catastrophic” way in April and has reached a level of pessimism like never before that of Munich Institute for Economic Research (IFO), which fell from 85.9 in the previous month to a record low of 74.3 points.
