In the past 24 hours, Germany has registered 342 infections and 21 deaths from coronavirus. This is a further decline in the daily balance of the pandemic, which, according to the Robert Koch Institute, results in a total of more than 174,000 infected people and more than 7,900 deaths.
These new figures are among the 33 deceased and the 583 infections that were recorded in Germany’s balance sheet on Sunday. The pandemic infected a total of 174,697 people and 7,935 deaths in the country.
In terms of federal states, Bavaria is still the most affected, with 45,507 infected and 2,287 deceased, followed by North Rhine-Westphalia (36,365 positive and 1,512 dead) and Baden-Württemberg (34,000 contagious and 1,652 deceased). The capital Berlin registered 6,458 cases and 180 deaths.
This new balance of the corona virus comes after a weekend on which Germany has resumed border communication. In the case of the German border with Austria, the German police reported that only a few minor restrictions were registered in the Bavarian state after the border traffic with this country was relaxed.
“There were only a few isolated cases in which we refused entry,” said a police spokesman before pointing out that there were cases in which the drivers had no reason to justify their crossing to Germany. Although border crossings are already open in this area, controls will continue at some points.
