Germany has seen a decrease in daily deaths and infections in the past 24 hours: 57 deaths and 620 cases, representing a total of 7,881 deaths and 173,772 deaths from the coronavirus pandemic.
These daily numbers are well below the 913 cases and 101 deaths recorded between Thursday and Friday. This is clear from the recent balance sheet released by the Robert Koch Institute, the government agency responsible for infectious disease surveillance, on Saturday.
By federal state, Bavaria remains the most affected with 45,340 infections and 2,273 deaths, followed by North Rhine-Westphalia (36,065 positive and 1,500 deaths) and Baden-Württemberg (33,893 infections and 1,644 deaths). The capital Berlin registered 6,428 cases and 181 deaths.
