Germany has seen a slight increase in infections and daily deaths with more than 8,200 deaths

Germany has registered a total of 638 new infections and 42 deaths in the last 24 hours, a daily increase compared to 460 infections and 27 deaths on Friday, corresponding to more than 8,200 deaths due to the Chinese city pandemic Wuhan.

In particular, Germany already records 177,850 cases and 8,216 deaths. This emerges from the recent balance sheet of the Robert Koch Institute, the German government agency responsible for monitoring infectious diseases.

In terms of federal states, Bavaria remains the most affected with 46,132 infections and 2,367 deaths, followed by North Rhine-Westphalia (37,139 positive and 1,555 deaths) and Baden-Württemberg (34,345 infections and 1,692 deaths). The capital Berlin registered 6,614 cases and 190 deaths.

This new balance of the corona virus comes days after the opening of restaurants and hotels in the country. The hotels in the cities of Hamburg and Bremen were reopened on Monday for local tourists as well as in the regions of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate in the west and Saxony and Thuringia in the east.
