The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Germany this Saturday exceeded 42,000 after 422 new infections, with seven new deaths added, which corresponds to a total of 9,010 deaths.
A total of 196,096 people across the country have been infected with the virus since the pandemic was declared. This emerges from the new balance sheet of the Robert Koch Institute, the federal authority responsible for combating and monitoring infectious diseases.
The balance confirms that after 400 new discharges, around 181,300 people have recovered from the disease in the past few hours.
For another week, Bavaria is the most affected federal state with 48,655 infections and 2,600 deaths, followed by North Rhine-Westphalia with 43,853 cases and 1,688 deaths and Baden-Württemberg with 35,807 cases and 1,837 deaths. The capital Berlin registered 8,393 cases and 214 deaths.
