Germany confirmed more than 7,800 infections and 177 deaths from coronavirus on the last day

The German authorities confirmed around 7,800 new cases and 177 deaths from coronavirus on the last day this Saturday – until they passed the threshold of 86,000 deaths – while the incidence fell again below 100 cases per 100,000 residents for the second day in a row, according to data of the Robert Koch Institute.

The agency, the government agency responsible for combating infectious diseases, said on its website that 7,894 infections in particular had been recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,584,934 and 86,025, respectively.

He also highlighted that there are currently about 239,700 active cases in the country, with the cumulative incidence over the past seven days being 87.3 infections per 100,000 population, a number that has fallen in recent weeks after a peak in March .

On the other hand, an estimated 3,275,500 people have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, including about 16,500 on the last day.
