German authorities confirmed more than 12,000 cases and 230 deaths from coronavirus on the last day this Thursday, at a time when the country hits the barrier of 87,000 deaths, as reported by the Robert Koch Institute.

The agency, the government agency responsible for controlling infectious diseases, said on its website that there were 12,298 positive and 237 deaths reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,626,393 and 86,902 deaths, respectively.

Likewise, the incidence rate is currently 68 cases per 100,000 population, in the context of a steady decline in the last few weeks after a boom in March with around 181,500 active cases.

On the other hand, the Robert Koch Institute has estimated an estimated 3,358,000 people who have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, including around 17,500 on the last day.
