The German authorities confirmed around 17,500 cases and more than 275 deaths from coronavirus on the last day this Thursday. According to the Robert Koch Institute, these are higher values than on Wednesday.
The agency, the government agency responsible for controlling infectious diseases, said on its website that 17,419 infections and 278 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,565,704 and 85,658 respectively.
He also stressed that there are currently about 239,700 active cases in the country, with the accumulated incidence over the past seven days being 103.6 infections per 100,000 population, a number that has declined in recent weeks after a peak in March.
On the other hand, an estimated 3,240,300 people have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, including about 20,000 on the last day.
