Germany confirmed 8,500 infections and 71 deaths from coronavirus on the last day

The German authorities reported 8,500 new cases and 71 deaths from coronavirus on the last day this Sunday, while the incidence has fallen below 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for the third time in a row, according to the Robert Koch Institute.

The agency, the government agency responsible for fighting infectious diseases, said on its website that there has been a total of 3,593,434 cases or 86,096 deaths in the last 24 hours since the pandemic began.

He also stressed that there are currently about 221,000 active cases in the country, with the incidence being 83.1 infections per 100,000 population over the past seven days, a number that has declined in recent weeks after peaking in March.

On the other hand, an estimated 3,286,500 people have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, including about 10,800 on the last day.
