Visitors wishing to enter Germany from countries that are at high risk due to their situation related to the coronavirus pandemic must undergo a diagnostic test for COVID-19 upon arrival at airports.
The German health ministers agreed this with the German health minister Jens Spahn, although no formal decision has yet been taken on this. Ministers are expected to speak again on Friday for details of the action, including who will pay for the tests concerned.
Persons entering low-risk countries such as France, Spain, Greece and most Europeans should not be subject to this new measure.
German airports remain cautious when approving the new standard and have ensured that their employees cannot carry out the tests.
