Germany borders on 200,000 cases after more than 9,000 coronavirus deaths

Germany is approaching 200,000 cases of coronavirus, including more than 9,000 deaths. This emerges from the balance offered on Monday by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the government agency responsible for monitoring the pandemic.

In the past 24 hours, the country has added another 159 cases for a total of 198,963, and three more deaths that increase the death toll to 9,064 while another 185,100 people have passed COVID-19.

In addition, the RKI has indicated that the rate of reproduction of the virus or R has risen to 1.04 – up from 0.93 the previous day – meaning that every infected person infects about one person. The R value reflects the contagion curve over a period of ten days.
