Germany bans conversion therapies for homosexuals

June 5, 2020

The German House of Lords ratified this Friday the Federal Council itself announced partial ban on alleged “conversion therapies” for homosexuals.

The measure has been approved so that the so-called “conversion treatments aimed at changing the sexual orientation of minors” are completely prohibited, although such treatments can only be carried out for adults “under certain circumstances”.

The rules provide for penalties if a person over the age of 18 is forced, threatened, or deceived to change their sexual orientation.
