Germany adds nearly 900 new cases of coronavirus in one day, a total of more than 211,000

Germany has registered about 900 new cases of coronavirus in the last few hours, which increases the total number of infected to over 211,000, as the government office Robert Koch (RKI) announced on Tuesday monitoring of infectious diseases in the country.

The RKI has detailed that 879 new positives and eight deaths were added in those 24 hours, which equates to a balance of 211,281 infected and 9,156 deaths, although around 194,000 have also recovered.

The R value or virus replication rate has also been reported to be 1.09 over the last 10 days, compared to 1.11 on Monday, meaning that every infected person infects one person on average.

Since the beginning of de-escalation last May, Germany has identified several outbreaks, mainly related to slaughterhouses and field workers, but also to social activities.
