Twins, a major crypto exchange founded by the Winklevoss brothers, has just added support for three new fiat currencies to its platform.
According to an official announcement on August 17th Gemini now allows its users to trade the Hong Kong dollar (HKD), the Australian dollar (AUD) and the Canadian dollar (CAD).
All three new fiat currencies contribute to the US dollarThis enables Gemini users in Hong Kong, Australia, and Canada to buy and sell cryptocurrencies using their home currencies.
However, HKD, AUD, and CAD are not currently offered through Gemini’s crypto trading platform known as the Active Trader platform. The currencies will be available soon as part of a new product plan, according to the announcement.
Gemini’s recent expansion into new currency offerings comes shortly after Gemini announced a key partnership with global technology giant Samsung.. The integration, released at the end of May, aims to enable users of the Samsung Blockchain Wallet to connect to the Gemini Mobile App to buy, sell and trade cryptocurrencies.
New York based, the exchange Gemini also operates in several countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Canada and Australia.as previously reported. After expanding to Australia in August 2019 Gemini is actively developing its European office in the UK as Tyler Winklevos believes Europe is “the cradle of modern financial markets”.
In June 2020 Gemini announced the appointment of a general manager for the Asia Pacific region and revealed plans to apply for a regulatory license in Singapore.
