The organizers are Adolfo Morán, a lawyer by profession, and Juan Diego Salcedo, a computer engineer.
“We believe that it is necessary to form this type of community in order to learn and discuss the development of the crypto ecosystem in Peru, in this case Ethereum in particular,” said Adolfo Morán.
“”It is not only necessary to know the data structure behind the blockchain technology, which by the way is open source. In my experience as a project manager I think it is important to know the main actors and the stories behind it. And what could be better than talking to Camila, who did a great job in her new book collecting the history of Ethereum, ”added Juan Salcedo.
This first meeting is designed to explain the goals of the community to attendees and provide the opportunity to chat with Camila Russo, who answers questions.
“This is a completely open and collaborative project. The idea is that we can all participate equally and put events and different topics up for discussion,” said the organizers.
On the other hand, Adolfo Morán commented: “The normal person in Peru still knows very little about cryptocurrencies and blockchain, most have only heard of Bitcoin and few dare to purchase cryptocurrencies due to distrust”.
In this scenario, the Ethereum community in Lima is trying to destroy myths and release any innovations that this platform has brought with it, such as: B. decentralized finance or DeFi.
This community will be open to the general public and will provide a space for beginners to experts to interact. In addition, Ethereum Lima participates in the creation of Ethereum meetup groups from different cities in Latin America (Buenos Aires, Bogotá, etc.), which means that they are part of a larger network of Ethereum enthusiasts and connoisseurs.

Some details about Ethereum
Developed by Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum is an open source public blockchain-based platform that offers smart contracts. It would be a mistake to define Ethereum as a cryptocurrency or to confuse it with Ether, a cryptocurrency of the Ethereum system.
Ethereum was created as a platform where users can create programs without the involvement of intermediaries, including central servers to store information that exposes them to less abuse by intermediaries and authorities.
Ethereum came into effect on July 30, 2015 and Ether is the second most important cryptocurrency on the market by capitalization.
