French police questioned a person about the fire in Nantes Cathedral

The French police have arrested a person for interrogation in connection with the fire reported at the St. Peter and St. Paul cathedral in Nantes on Saturday, as prosecutor Pierre Sènnes told France Info on Sunday.

According to the prosecutor, the person is a diocese volunteer who was responsible for closing the church last Friday.

According to prosecutors, the investigators intend to clarify the sequence of events since the night the cathedral was closed, but have noticed that the man is innocent until proven otherwise and have asked no premature guesses to employ.
