France passed the 300,000 case threshold of COVID-19 this Thursday after registering an infection rate of more than 7,100 in the past 24 hours on a day marked by the economic stimulus announced by Emmanuel Macron’s government .
According to the French health department, the preliminary balance of positive results in France is 300,181, 7,157 more than on Wednesday. About 4.4 percent of the tests performed in the last 24 hours tested positive, according to official statistics.
The French authorities have also recorded 21 more deaths, a total of 30,706 since the pandemic began.
The government announced this Thursday a new economic program called “France Relaunch”. With this, the authorities plan to provide 100,000 million euros through subsidies, tax cuts and funds to finance environmental projects in order to promote the recovery of employment and the economy of the Gallic country and to restore the previous GDP level in 2022 after the pandemic.
