France reports more than 10,000 new cases of COVID-19 in one day for the first time

The French Ministry of Health reported 10,561 new positive results for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours this Saturday, which is a historical maximum of infections detected daily, well above the first days after the epidemic hit the country. In total, France has 373,911 confirmed cases.

This Saturday’s bulletin also lists 17 deaths, 30,910 deaths, including 20,395 in hospitals and 772 outbreaks currently being investigated, including a hundred in nursing homes.

In the past seven days, there were 2,432 new hospitalizations and 417 corresponding patients who had to be admitted to intensive care units. A total of 77 departments are in a situation of medium or high vulnerability.
