The French Ministry of Health confirmed this Sunday that 3,015 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, at a time when the government is discussing new restriction measures in the workplace and in populations such as Paris or Marseille on alert.
218,536 infections have already been reported in the country, while one new death in the past few hours brings the total death toll to 30,410.
The government is also investigating 263 sources of infection, 17 more than on Saturday, and 23 departments are at risk, including Paris and Bouches-du-Rhône, where Marseille is located.
According to its daily analysis, the ministry states that “the situation is worrying: all indicators continue to rise and the transmission of the SARS-COV-2 virus is increasing. It affects all age groups and especially young adults.”
