The French Ministry of Health reported 10,569 new cases and twelve deaths in the last 24 hours this Sunday, bringing the total to 453,763 positive and 31,585 deaths since the pandemic began.
France is in the middle of the second wave, especially in the upward part of a curve that is already higher than that of the first wave of the disease that hit the country in March and April.
The data for this Sunday represents a slight decrease compared to Saturday, but the decrease in infections on Sunday is cyclical due to the decrease in activity and the current 10,569 new cases are higher than last Sunday’s 7,183.
Sunday’s bulletin also includes data like 5.7 percent positive results in the tests performed, the increase in outbreaks studied to 1,045 – 40 more -, data from 3,894 hospitalizations in the past seven days, and the 593 patients remained in intensive care units. Up to 89 departments are in a “medium or high vulnerability” situation.
