France confirms more than 2,500 coronavirus cases over the weekend and indicates “slow degradation”.

The French government announced Monday that there were more than 2,500 coronavirus cases and 17 deaths over the weekend, stressing that “the latest epidemiological trends show a slow deterioration in the pandemic situation in the country”.

The Department of Health highlighted in its recent statement that “the virus is spread throughout the country” and detailed that there have been 183,079 cases and 30,209 deaths to date.

It was also reported that 5,655 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, including 398 hospitalized in intensive care units.

On the other hand, he pointed out that “combating and expanding test operations is a priority to combat the widespread use of the coronavirus” before stressing that more than four million tests have been carried out in the country to date.
