The French government confirmed fourteen coronavirus deaths on the last day this Friday, noting a decrease in the number of hospital stays, including those in intensive care units due to COVID-19.
The health ministry has said that to date, 30,152 people in the country have died from the virus, with nearly 174,000 cases in total while 6,688 people remain in hospital, 108 fewer than the previous day. This means that 477 people are in intensive care, four fewer than on Thursday.
He also noted that “the epidemic peak in French Guiana seems to have passed”, while in Mayotte “the epidemic peak has passed and the epidemic is continuing to wane”. Both departments are considered “vulnerable”.
“To avoid recovery, it is important that we take preventive measures together and consistently, including using a mask in closed public places,” said the French Ministry of Health.
