The French government confirmed on Thursday an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the country, with more than 500 in the past 24 hours, hours after Prime Minister Jean Castex announced “next week” to start. The mandatory use of the mask is prescribed in “closed public places”.
The French Ministry of Health said 534 cases and 18 deaths were confirmed on the last day, compared to 416 infections and 20 deaths on Wednesday, while the total was estimated at 173,838 and 30,138, respectively.
He also said that he is currently investigating a total of 95 outbreaks in the country, two fewer than those analyzed on Wednesday, and that 6,796 people are admitted, including 481 in resuscitation services.
On the other hand, he emphasized that the French Guiana, Mayotte, Mayenne and Gironde departments are in a “vulnerable” situation, as is the daytime on Wednesday.
