France confirms 80 deaths within 24 hours, the lowest number since detention began

The French Directorate-General for Health reported 80 coronavirus deaths within 24 hours, the lowest since delivery began on March 17. The number of deceased has been 26,310 since March 1st.

The French authorities distinguish between 16,573 deaths in hospitals and 9,737 in nursing homes and other socio-sanitary facilities.

In addition, 22,614 people are in hospital, 110 beds fewer than on Friday, while 2,812 are in intensive care, 56 fewer, confirming a slow decline in severe cases.

There have been a total of 138,854 confirmed cases and 56,038 cured people who have been discharged from hospital since the epidemic began on March 1.

“We thank everyone who has mobilized in the past few months. This effort has enabled us to care for patients with Covid-19, but also for all other patients,” the French government’s official statement said.
