May 27, 2020

The French Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that another 66 coronavirus deaths have been registered in the country’s hospitals in the past 24 hours after four days without updating the number of deaths in nursing homes and day care centers.

In a statement, health officials have detailed that the death toll has been 28,596 since the pandemic began, of which 18,260 have been registered in hospitals and another 10,336 in nursing homes.

However, health officials have made it clear that the last day death toll is only those who died in hospitals, despite the government’s announcement that the number of deaths in nursing homes will be updated on Friday, May 29.
