France registered another 14 deaths from coronavirus on Friday, bringing the total number of deaths since the pandemic to 29,617, although the number of hospitalizations is already below 10,000.
Health officials, who have once again drawn attention to the “deterioration of the situation” in Normandy, made a detailed statement that 19,160 deaths occurred in hospitals, while another 10,457 were registered in dormitories among older people.
There are currently 9,970 people in the hospital, 155 fewer than the previous day, although 116 more people have been admitted since Thursday. In addition, the number of patients in the intensive care unit, which is now 727, continues to decrease progressively.
75 percent of the people hospitalized in the intensive care unit are in the Ile-de-France, Haute-France, Grand-East and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions that are most affected by the pandemic.
