Four miners trapped in Colombia’s Boyacá department were found dead

Colombian rescue teams have found four dead miners trapped in the Río Chiquito coal mine in the Colombian department of Boyacá.

This was reported by the Governor of Boyacá, Ramiro Barragán, who lamented the deaths of the workers and called for situations of this nature not to arise again.

“The miners, the authorities and, with us, the departmental government should work as a team to ensure that people comply with occupational safety, occupational health, minimum safety standards and of course all of the preventive measures to prevent this from happening again,” he said loudly the local chain RCN.

The incident occurred more than a week ago and from that moment the rescue team tried to rescue those affected, to no avail, also due to the difficulty of the terrain and the collapse it caused.
