Four minors died this Thursday in a fire on the first floor of a house in south London, UK, despite the efforts of more than 60 firefighters, the causes of which are unknown.
The fire brigade managed to save the victims from the flames, although the resuscitation measures on the street were unsuccessful and the four children died, reports the Daily Mail.
The Metropolitan Police said the causes of the fire were unknown, adding that it was not known who was still in the house, despite having indicated that the victims’ relatives were “aware”.
The British police said they have started an investigation to clarify the causes of the fire and that no detainees are currently detained.
London Fire Brigade Commissioner Andy Row has said that the members of the Corps involved in the incident were “numb with grief” after the death of the minors and were offered help.
“My thoughts go with the children’s family and friends, the entire local community, and everyone who will be affected by this fire,” Row said.
